Our Mission
More Than a Signal
When the local country radio tower came down, we lost more than a signal. Our listeners lost their connection with us, and we all felt a little more alone. Without a tower, there was no way to bring that connection back.
So we partnered with our local paper, the Jackson County Times, and set out on a new mission: Southern Social streaming radio.
We wanted to create a place where anyone, anywhere, could tune in and find clear, reliable information about the things that bring people together — local news, sports and community events, plus RV rallies, fundraisers, concerts and all the big gatherings that fill our calendars and our hearts. We wanted the music easy on the ears, the voices friendly, and the information simple and trustworthy — all on your schedule.
Giving Back
But we wanted something deeper, too. A portion of the advertising dollars we earn will go to the people and causes that need it most: our veterans, our elderly, animals, and families still working to rebuild after the storms. Radio and the newspaper have always been about community, and community means looking out for one another.
This station is for the local who never wants to miss another event, with the power to choose what you hear at the click of a button. It’s for the traveler rolling through our town. It’s for anyone looking for good country music and new, up-and-coming artists, with a little piece of Southern charm.
And it’s for everyone who believes that when we share information — and share a little of what we earn — we all do better.
That’s our promise: simple, sincere, and open to everyone.
We worked very hard to build this for you, and it’s very dear to my heart. I hope you love it as much as I do — and share it to help us grow. 💕
